Galaxy Watch 4 Health Connect sync guide 2026
The Galaxy Watch 4 was the first Samsung watch to run Wear OS with native Health Connect support, replacing the older Samsung Health-only pipeline. It writes steps, heart rate, sleep stages (REM, light, deep, awake), SpO2, and ECG data to Health Connect. FitMesh reads all these data types automatically once Health Connect permissions are granted.

Frequently asked questions
Does Galaxy Watch 4 write sleep stages to Health Connect?+
Yes. Galaxy Watch 4 supports full sleep stage detection (light, deep, REM, awake) and writes all stages to Health Connect via Samsung Health. FitMesh reads these automatically.
Does the Galaxy Watch 4 ECG data appear in Health Connect?+
ECG readings are stored in Samsung Health but are not written to the standard Health Connect ECG data type due to regulatory reasons. Steps, heart rate, sleep, and workouts do sync normally.
My Galaxy Watch 4 steps are not showing in FitMesh. What should I check?+
Open Health Connect, go to App permissions, find Samsung Health and verify it has write permission for Steps. On some Android versions Samsung Health requires background permissions to sync reliably. Also make sure FitMesh has read permission for Steps in Health Connect.
