Polar + FitMesh
Web dashboard for Polar Flow: your Polar data outside the silo
Polar Flow is a solid platform for endurance athletes, but your data stays locked in the Polar cloud. FitMesh brings it to the web alongside your other wearables.
Polar has a long history in endurance sport: heart rate monitors, GPS for cycling and running, training load analysis. The common problem is the same as many sports brands: data lives in Polar Flow and Polar Flow only. If you also have a Galaxy Watch for daily wear, or want all your data in one place on a PC, Polar doesn't help you natively.
How it works today: Polar → Health Connect → FitMesh
The Polar Flow app on Android syncs steps, heart rate, and workouts to Health Connect. FitMesh reads from Health Connect, so it receives this data automatically.
- Available today via Health Connect: steps, heart rate (average and samples), calories, workouts (type, duration, average HR, kcal), basic sleep
- In roadmap: OAuth Polar Accesslink API integration for Training Load, Nightly Recharge, Recovery Pro, orthostatic test
Who benefits most from this integration
- Triathletes and runners with multiple devices: Polar for specific training, Galaxy Watch or other for daily wear — FitMesh unifies them.
- Those wanting independent Polar backup: workout history in a European cloud (Frankfurt) not dependent on Polar's corporate decisions.
- Those who analyze data on PC: browser-accessible web dashboard, without opening the Polar app on phone.
- Those using Polar without premium subscription: FitMesh doesn't require Polar premium for data via Health Connect.
Frequently asked questions
Which Polar devices are compatible?+
All Polar devices compatible with the Polar Flow app on Android: Vantage M2, V3, Ignite 3, Pacer, Pacer Pro, Grit X2, Unite, and older models. The only requirement is sync happening via the Polar Flow Android app with Health Connect enabled.
Will I see Training Load and Nightly Recharge?+
Not today — they're proprietary Polar metrics not exposed via Health Connect. They'll be available with the roadmap Polar Accesslink API integration. Today via Health Connect you see heart rate, workouts, steps, and basic sleep.
Does Polar overlap with Garmin? Which should I choose?+
Depends on your primary use. Polar is traditionally strong in running and cycling with advanced cardio analysis (HR zones, lactate threshold). Garmin is more complete for outdoor sports with a broader ecosystem. Both integrate with FitMesh via Health Connect, so you can use them in parallel if you have devices from both brands.
