Sync Smartphone Android to your dashboard

FitMesh Sync reads health data directly from your phone via Health Connect: Android pedometer steps, heart rate from apps like Samsung Health in phone-only mode, Google Fit data and manual entries. No smartwatch required: if your phone writes to Health Connect, FitMesh reads it.

Troubleshooting

I don't see my steps+

Check that Health Connect → Permissions → FitMesh Sync → Steps is enabled. If you have Samsung Health or Google Fit installed, also verify they have write permissions for steps in Health Connect.

I see less data than someone with a smartwatch+

Correct: a wearable adds continuous sensors (24/7 heart rate, SpO₂, automatic sleep stages). The phone offers basic data, but for many users it's enough to track daily steps and activities.

Can I add a smartwatch later?+

Yes. Just connect your wearable to Health Connect (via Samsung Health, Zepp, OHealth or another companion app) and FitMesh will automatically read the new data. You can change the mode in Settings at any time.

Technical notes

Connection via Health Connect, no OAuth. Phone data (pedometer, fitness apps) is read exactly like wearable data: Health Connect abstracts the source. Data quality and granularity depend on the apps installed and the device's sensors.

Frequently asked questions

Can FitMesh track steps from my Android phone without a wearable?+

Yes. FitMesh reads step data recorded by your Android phone's built-in pedometer through Health Connect. Your phone automatically counts steps using its accelerometer — no wearable required. Just grant FitMesh read access to 'Steps' in Health Connect.

How accurate is phone-based step tracking with FitMesh?+

Phone step counting is less accurate than a wrist wearable because your phone isn't always in your pocket. However, Google Fit, Samsung Health, and other apps that use the Android step counter sensor are reasonably accurate when the phone is carried consistently.

Which health apps sync phone data to FitMesh?+

Any app that writes data to Android Health Connect can share data with FitMesh, including Google Fit, Samsung Health, Fitbit (on Android), and many others. FitMesh reads from Health Connect, so all compatible sources are aggregated automatically.

Do I need a wearable to use FitMesh?+

No. FitMesh works with just an Android smartphone. You'll get steps and any other data that your health apps write to Health Connect. Adding a wearable (smartwatch, fitness tracker, or smart ring) unlocks richer data like sleep stages, continuous heart rate, and SpO₂.
