Frequently asked questions

Does Forerunner 265 write running dynamics to Health Connect?+

Basic running workout data (duration, distance, heart rate, calories) writes to Health Connect. Advanced running dynamics like ground contact time, vertical oscillation, and stride length stay in Garmin Connect and require the Garmin Health API for third-party access.

Does Forerunner 265 support sleep stage tracking for Health Connect?+

Yes. Forerunner 265 uses Garmin's Advanced Sleep Monitoring (ASM) which detects light, deep, and REM sleep stages. These write to Health Connect via Garmin Connect. FitMesh reads all stages automatically.

Is there a difference between Forerunner 265 and 265S for Health Connect?+

No difference. Both variants (265 and 265S) write the same data types to Health Connect. The only difference is the case size (42mm vs 46mm).
